Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have a defining influence on the variety in the food sector. With up to 250 employees and less than 50 million Euro of turnover per annum they cannot build up an own research department. The results of research projects and a constant ambition for innovation is still a “must” for these enterprises. Hence, FIS Europe would like to form the bridge between science and business. With support of the EU and own means the participation in different research projects is realised. In the discussion of the scientists the interests of the SMEs are introduced. Nevertheless, big enterprises should not be excluded, but normally their needs are covered internally.
| Research support for the little ones: 90% of the food products in Europe are produced by small and medium-sized enterprises. On account of the daily business research and development are paid little attention. This project supports enterprises dealing with regulatory procedures of research proposals. Additionally, enterprises will find contacts for cooperation research partners.
